Bremen Reveals Lack of Offers For di Santo

German outfit Werder Bremen have revealed that they have not yet received any offers for former Chelsea striker Franco di Santo, who was briefly called up for the Argentine squad for the World Cup 2014. After struggling to get regular first-team football at Chelsea, the youngster moved to Wigan where he helped the club stay in the Premier League against all the odds. Since then, he has moved to German football with Werder Bremen. It has been quite successful year and this has led to the call-up for the national team.

Di Santa Confirmed For Argentina

Argentina’s schedule prior to the start of the 2014 World Cup will see them locking horns with Trinidad and Tobago only 1 week before the start of the tournament and Alejandro Sabella came up with a few surprises after announcing his provisional 30 man squad which included Franco Di Santo while Carlos Tevez is not in the list.

FISCHER STEPS DOWN

Werder Bremen chief executive and president Klaus-Dieter Fischer has announced that he will step down from his post at the end of the season in what will be the start of a new era for the club.

Werder Bremen have been one of the top teams in the Bundesliga for several years and Klaus-Dieter Fischer has played a huge role in making them into this position. The 73-year-old said that he has taken this decision due to personal reasons. He says that the job he has done at Werder Bremen has not only helped him at professional level, but also make his life better at a personal level as well.

BAYERN TOP THE LEAGUE

While Bayern Munich continue topping the Bundesliga as they were already crowned as the champions of the German league despite still having more than 6 matches left to be played. The numerical advantage that Bayern Munich has over their nearest rivals, Borussia Dortmund is so huge that Pep Guardiola and his men are safe to say that they will be lifting the league trophy no matter what happens in the remainder of the season.

Di Santo enjoying his time

Franco Di Santo who was a free transfer from Wigan Athletic to Werder Bremen says that he is enjoying his time at the club and in a recent interview he was asked how he feels after coming back from the injury and playing the first round to which he said that it is always a pleasure to play for Werder Bremen especially when you are coming back from an injury. He has been in and out of the starting eleven after having suffered from quite a lot of injuries recently.

WERDER CHASE BERARDI

Werder Bremen continues to show interest on Domenico Berardi and Luca Marrone of Juventus. Marco Motta is another player on the radar of the German club as the 27 years old player has not played a starting role for the head coach Antonio Conte and there is a big possibility that he will be leaving the club either in this transfer window or a few months’ time in the summer.

WERDER WANTS DE BRUYNE BACK

Werder Bremen has confirmed that they are waiting to hear if Kevin de Bruyne will be made available for loan in January.

"Kevin de Bruyne's agent is aware of our interest in his services. I will be getting to know if there is a chance to re-sign Kevin de Bruyne on loan for our club," general manager Thomas Eichin told Kreiszeitung Syke.

"If this is possible, we will have to wait and see if such a deal can be really worked out. Everyone at Werder Bremen knows all about the quality of Kevin de Bruyne."

BREMEN CALLS

Werder Bremen recently signed Argentine striker Franco di Santo on a free transfer. The striker decided not to extend his contract with the championship club Wigan athletic. He came to England in 2008 after signing for Chelsea for £ 3 million.

However, he found first-team opportunities limited at Chelsea. This led to his move to Blackburn Rovers on a loan deal, and he thrived during this loan spell. Despite this, he was unable to establish himself as a first-team regular and he was sold to Wigan for £ 3 million a few seasons ago.

Swansea not looking at Franco di Santo

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has rubbished claims that Wigan Athletic striker Franco di Santo could be heading to the Liberty Stadium in the summer transfer window, adding that the club was working towards finding a different kind of player and that the Argentine is not someone they are interested in.

Premiership title football tips

The debate about who will win next season’s Premier League – not to mention the football betting interest – started more or less as soon as the dust had settled on Manchester United’s triumph. However putting bets on it is particularly hard to do with real accuracy this summer, because there has been so much upheaval at the three top clubs – most notably the retirement of Ferguson at United.
