The representative of Gonzalo Higuain has said that the Argentine will remain with Juventus for the remaining two years of his contract. The 31-year-old fell out-of-favour under manager Max Allegri after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo last summer and he thereafter spent loan spells with AC Milan and Chelsea respectively.
As such, he had been touted to secure a permanent departure from the Bianconeri but that stance has changed in recent weeks with the striker reuniting with Maurizio Sarri at a third separate club. Writing on his official Twitter account, Higuain’s brother Nicola reaffirmed that the striker’s desire to honour the remaining length of the Bianconeri contract, he wrote: “Gonzalo will only play for Juventus in Italy. Two years contract remains and it will be respected.”
Higuain enjoyed his best-ever scoring season under Sarri at Napoli where he notched 36 goals in the Serie A alone. However, a reunion with Chelsea could not work out last term as he managed a mere five goals from 18 appearances. Owing to this, the west London side decided against a permanent move for his signature.
Juventus are currently under the management of Sarri, who made the return to the Serie A after just one season with the Blues . The Italian tactician has yet to orchestrate any signing but the club have already done some meaningful business with Aaron Ramsey set to join them on a Bosman move from Arsenal next month.
Aside from Ramsey, Rabiot has been another player tipped to join the club on a free transfer. The Frenchman has turned down a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain and it appears that he could favour a move to the Serie A over the Premier League, considering the Bianconeri are prepared to meet his £170,000-a-week wages while offering a sizeable signing-on fee.
