Hannover 96 manager, Horst Heldt is currently facing a difficult transfer summer at the club as the transfer window opens this July.
There are quite a few number of players in his ranks and if he plans to get far in the upcoming season, he has to shore up his defence, as well as his attack. However, he insists on showing patience with new signings.
Several players are expected to leave the club before the new season comes into play, with striker Artur Sobiech topping the list.
His contract is expected to expire this season and as he leaves the club, the jersey bearing the number 9 would be free for the next season.
Thus, the jersey is free for a new entry and the former manager of Schalke and Stuttgart, Heldt seems to have his eyes set already on a player – Franco di Santo.
He however believes that it would pay more to be patient and not rush into it
"We do not panic in the search as we have plans to check the international market," he said.
However,he confirmed that the club was interested in signing up the Di Santo but they had to be patient.
"With this player, it makes sense to wait patiently," he added.
Apart from Sobiech, a few other players such as Charlison Benschop, Babacar Gueye and Mevlut Erdinc are also expected to leave the Lower Saxony before the new season begins.
Domenico Tedesco, the new coach at Gelsenkirchen where the Argentinian is under contract until 2019, is looking to put the squad under the magnifying glass.
This could mean the end of the road for Di Santo at the club, as he has already been notified by the coach according to reports by SportBild.
