Argentine striker Franco Di Santo might not be an household name in the Premier League but he's still known to several teams in the English top flight after he turned out for a lot of teams during his stay in the United Kingdom (UK).
Franco Di Santo moved to England as a teenager with Chelsea paying a little over £3m to secure his transfer from AudaxItaliano in the Chilean league. He spent some time on loan at Blackburn Rovers as a Chelsea player and went on to play almost 100 games for Wigan Athletic.
He has his best spell in English football at Wigan Athletic and he was an important member of the squad that stunned overwhelming favourites Manchester City during the 2013 FA Cup final. Franco Di Santo was a member of the Wigan Athletic squad that beat Manchester City 1-0 to win a major trophy for the first time in the history of the club. Ben Watson was the hero for the Latics after netting the only goal of the game. Di Santo scored several important goals for Wigan Athletic during his stay at the club.
After leaving Wigan, Di Santo joined Werder Bremen and also played for Schalke 04 where he had a less successful time in comparison to his time at Werder Bremen. Franco Di Santo had spells with Rayo Vallecano in Spain and Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro before he made the decision to return to his native Argentina.
Di Santo signed for San Lorenzo in the Argentine league thus making it the first time that he would be representing a club in his country. He had started his professional career in the Chilean league as revealed earlier. The striker has been a San Lorenzo player for over a year and he's a regular in their first team.
